Guide for ARK: Survival Evolved – How to get official creature levels on singleplayer

This guide will explain how to properly set your difficulty to the official level that will spawn wild creatures levels 5-150.

How to change the settings

1. Go to ARK in your library.
2. Click “Manage.”
3. Click “Browse local files.”
4. Click “ShooterGame.”
5. Click “Saved.”
6. Click “Config.”
7. Click “WindowsNoEditor.”
8. Finally, click “GameUserSettings.”
9. Scroll until you find server settings.
10. Most of these settings can be tweaked within the game itself, however setting the difficulty to 1.0 alone WILL NOT change anything. You must come here.
11. Now find the difficulty offset.
12. Under it, add the following line (no quotes or period): “OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5.0.”
13. Make sure to save.
14. Once you get back on, do a dinowipe.
15. If all dino levels are increments of five (e.g. 5, 10, 15, 20, up to 150), you have succeeded.
16. If you find “odd” levels (e.g. 6, 7, 8), you have done something wrong.
17. Also, be sure to note that tek dinos will be at increments of 6, with 180 as max.
