If you are later on in the game, you will obtain a party member called Photon. They are the key to winning this. First, level up his skill as much as possible. 
 
His skill will slow down or speed up time everywhere, even in these mini-games. Set your time to as slow as possible and start the mini-game. 
 
While the game will slow down, you will remain the same speed, and should be able to win easily!
