Introduction

While roaming the widths of the internet, I stumbled upon this solution shared by u/ThePhoenixRoyal and thought to give it a try, as there was overall good feedback on his solution.

Prerequisites

It helps to install notepad-plus-plus.org – https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/, but this is

not necessary

but makes working on config-files, in general, a tad easier. Imagine a more sophisticated version of your typical Notepad – everything a step further from this is an improvement in general.

Actual Solution

1. Head over to your Cyberpunk config-folder. Usually, it should be found in your Steam directory:

\Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config

2. Open up the memory_pool_budgets.csv file with Notepad++

Right-click and hit “Open with Notepad++.”

3. Locate PoolCPU and see that it is set to 1536MB

Please be aware to only change the values for PC. Ignore Durango and Orbis; those are the entries for Xbox and PS.

4. Change values

So, you want to crank up those numbers. PoolCPU should be at least half of your RAM. E.g., you have 16GB RAM, write down 8GB instead of 1536MB (no need to do MB-GB-conversion).

PoolCPU = RAM/2 😉

5. Locate PoolGPU and see that it is set to 3GB

This value should be set to the size of your GPU.

6. Change Values
E.g., you’ve got a graphics card with an 8GB GPU, set the value to 8GB. If you’ve got one with 6GB, set it to 6GB.

7. Save the file

8. Run the game

Conclusion

I hope this will help some of you.

I am sure that CDProjektRED will fix this in the upcoming patches; you probably do not need to change something after the patches, as a steam update addressing those files should switch them out itself. If you run into problems after an update, try verifying your local files.
