Go to: \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1134710 
In here there are folders named with numbers. Each of these represent one train mod. 
 
Open one of these folders, and you will see a folder named after the modded train and a mod.txt 
 
Copy the folder into: 
\Steam\steamapps\common\NIMBY Rails\resources\trains 
 
This is where NIMBY stores the vanilla trains. 
You will also find a mod.txt in here aswell. 
 
Open both mod.txt and copy the sections regarding [TrainUnit] and [TrainMultipleUnit] from the modded train into the mod.txt from NIMBY. 
 
The game now considers the modded trains part of vanilla and will happily allow you to use them. 
 
Also remember to backup your games mod.txt before editing, since every train added this way will be considered vanilla even for new games.
