Guide for Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Some Personal Notes on
Party: Making Money in the Early Game
Loot & sell high-value, but low-weight items, including:
- Any masterwork items
- Compound bows
Party: Mercenaries
The cost of mercenaries goes up based on the attainable level of our primary hero (our own character). It is best to acquire as many mercenaries as you think you will need, as soon as possible, in order to save money, and give mercenaries the chance to level up alongside the rest of the party.
Our "attainable level" is not only the level we are currently at, but any level ups we have pending.
Character level = cost in gold for 1 mercenary
1 = 200g
2 = 500g
3 = 2,000g
Kingdom: Advisors
Any and all mercenaries have a -4 penalty to any Advisor position. It’s a little ridiculous, because we’re all strangers to the good people of Kingdom, so why should a mercenary make a difference? And yet, it does – a very hefty difference. We’re better off using our named, recruitable companions in any given Advisor slot.
