Persona 4 Golden – A walkthrough Guide for every single quest

During my first playthrough, I somehow managed to complete all the quests whithout much effort so I realized I could contribute to the community by writing my own quest guide. Now, I know there are many other helpful guides available online, but I figured I put my own spin onto one.

My objective with this guide is to provide a walkthrough of every single quest in an orderly manner, while giving out tips on how to easily complete them. I have also attached a video to every quest, courtesy of the youtuber https://www.youtube.com/c/ikiga89, to a*sist anyone struggling with any specific quest.

I apologize in advance for splitting the guide into so many sections, but my guide would be compromised otherwise, since sections have a 8,000 character limit.

For now, some information might be partially wrong or missing, especially when it comes to the location of specific shadows within the game dungeons. But I expect to slowly update this guide as I double-check all the information during a second playthrough, sometime in the future.

Spoiler-free tips for beginners

⠀✦⠀1.⠀There are mainly two types of fetch quests in the game. While most of the quests will require you to fetch items that will only drop after accepting their respective quest, some quests will require items that can be collected before the quest even becomes available. Keep an eye out for those, and preferably don’t sell items that could be useful later.

⠀✦⠀2.⠀Quest 15 will require you to have a Deep-Sea Fishing Rod, which can be obtained by catching a Samegawa Guardian. Be smart and streamline your playthrough by keeping the fish, since Quest 60 (1/10) will require you to have a Samegawa Guardian in your inventory.

⠀✦⠀3. Quests 5, 30, 43, 52, and 53 have a time limit. Complete them before they become unavailable.

⠀✦⠀4.⠀The epilogue quests (60 to 69) won’t be available unless you pursue the game’s true ending. Otherwise, you can completely ignore them.

⠀✦⠀5.⠀While completing all quests won’t reward you with an achievement, it’s highly recommended that you attempt completing them, since they will reward you with money, armor, clothes, and useful items for — most times — relatively low effort.

This is the first one of the Mysterious Fox Quests for the Hemit Social Link. This Quest must be done in parts, over the course of three days. Begin the quest by receiving an Ema from the Fox, at the Shrine. The Next day, talk to the girl standing by the player’s shoe locker, in Cla*sroom Building 1F.

You must wait another day to find the same girl outside Cla*s 2-2. Talk to her and choose the first dialogue option. Finally, wait another day to talk to her again outside Cla*s 2-2. Return to the Shrine in order to complete the quest.

After talking to her, talk to Chie on the Roof of Yasogami High School to receive Meat Gum. Return to the lady and give her the Meat Gum in order to complete the quest.

You should now find a dog either at the Samegawa Flood Plain or Central Shopping District. Talk to the dog and select “Talk to it gently” for the first two days. The next day, purchase a Steak Skewer from Souzai Daigaku, in Shopping District, North. Feed it to the dog in order to complete the quest.

This is the fourth of the Mysterious Fox Quests for the Hemit Social Link. Begin the quest by receiving an Ema from the Fox, at the Shrine. You should now find a boy at the Samegawa Flood Plain. Talk to the boy and give him a Prize Sticker, which can be obtained from Tanaka’s Home Shopping TV program.

The next day, return to the boy to find out the Prize Sticker was not enough. That evening at home, talk to Nanako and choose “Ask Nanako About Stickers”, then “Thank You”. The next day, give Nanako’s Sticker to the boy. You must wait another day and talk to the boy again in order to complete the quest.

This is the fifth of the Mysterious Fox Quests for the Hemit Social Link. Begin the quest by receiving an Ema from the Fox, at the Shrine. You should now find a man at Central Shopping District, North. Agree to complete a model for him. You can work on the model on the table in your room.

The model will take four nights to complete. After completing the model, take it back to the man in order to complete the quest.

You should now find a girl on the Roof of Yasogami High School when it’s not raining. You will need a Rank 3 Understanding and Courage. Ask her “Do you need help speaking?” and “Give ger lessons.” The next day, talk to her again and choose “Apologize to her” in order to complete the quest.

This is the seventh of the Mysterious Fox Quests for the Hemit Social Link. Begin the quest by receiving an Ema from the Fox, at the Shrine. You should now find a man at the Samegawa Floodplain when it’s not raining. Talk to him and choose “Is it a cat?”.

After talking to him, go to Dojima Residence, but do not enter the house. Talk to the cat and choose “Bring the man to see the cat”. The next day, talk to the man again on the floodplain. Bring him a Red Goldfish the next day in order to complete the quest.

This is the eighth of the Mysterious Fox Quests for the Hemit Social Link. Begin the quest by receiving an Ema from the Fox, at the Shrine. You should now find a woman at the Samegawa Floodplain when it’s not raining. Talk to her to find out she has lost her wallet. Search by a sign at Riverbank, near the bottom of the stairs. There will be a prompt to search when you are close enough. Take the wallet you find back to the woman.

After the woman refuses to take it, go to the telephone pole in Central Shopping District, North, and look around the ground. When you are close enough, you should get another prompt to search. Take this wallet to the woman in order to complete the quest.

This is the last of the Mysterious Fox Quests for the Hemit Social Link. Begin the quest by receiving an Ema from the Fox, at the Shrine. You should now talk to the man at Riverbank to find out he wishes to see a Sea Guardian. To catch the Sea Guardian, you will need to use Genji Beetle as bait. You can purchase 2 of these beetles from Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities on 8/22, or catch them like other bugs after you accept the quest.

Unlike the River Guardian, it doesn’t have to be raining or snowing in order to catch the Sea Guardian at Shichiri Beach, though it will allow you to get it on the hook more easily. You will know it’s the Guardian by the ripples as soon as you throw it in the water. If there’s a splash resonating upwards from the surface, you’ve got the Guardian hooked. If not, you can reel it in without losing the bait and try again.

Return to the man and show him the Sea Guardian in order to complete the quest. It’s important to report visit the fox twice after completing this quest. For the second visit, you will need to have an Enthralling (maxed out) Expression in order to undestand the fox’s feelings and max out the Hermit Social Link.

The student will ask you for a couple of items. First, go to the Practice Building 2F to find the Artisan Apprentice student. Talk to him to find out he will trade you a Cleaning Mop for a Lai Katana. The Lai Katana can be bought from Daidara Metalworks after 6x Golden Cloth are sold to him. Golden Cloth is an item dropped by the shadow “Phantom Mage”, which spawns in Yukiko’s Castle on floors 5 to 7. After trading your Lai Katana for the mop, bring the student the Cleaning Mop.

In order to get the Cleaning Uniform, the second item for this quest, you must accept the Hospital Janitor job, which you can do by interacting with the Town Bulletin Board in Shopping District, North. You will need some Understanding. Next, head to Croco Fur in Okina City to find the Cleaning Uniform finally available for ¥ 14,800. Purchase it and then return to the quest giver in Cla*sroom Building 3F in order to complete the quest.

Visit Daidara’s Metalworks in Shopping District, South, to receive this quest from Master Daidara. The Inaba Trout can either be bought from Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities on 6/5 to 6/7 and 9/11 to 9/13, or it can be caught though fishing. Bring Daidara the fish in order to complete the quest.

The man will ask you for Hard Boots. The Hard Boots can be bought from Daidara Metalworks after 5x Thick Hide are sold to him. Thick Hide is an item dropped by the shadow “Dancing Hand”, which spawns in Steamy Bathhouse on floors 5 to 8. Bring the boots to the quest giver (don’t equip them) in order to complete the quest.

If not, Samegawa Guardian can be caught at Riverbank on rainy days by using Inaba Jewel Beetle as bait. The legendary fish can also be caught any snowy day during the month of December, or at night during January.

You will know it’s the Guardian by the ripples as soon as you throw it in the water. If there’s a splash resonating upwards from the surface, you’ve got the Guardian hooked. If not, you can reel it in without losing the bait and try again. Once you have one, hand it over to Master Daidara in order to complete the quest.

Wait until the next day to interact with her again. Talk to her and feed her a different fish everyday until the cat returns home (avoid the Hachiro Octopus, she won’t eat it). Return to the quest giver in Okina City in order to complete the quest.
