Subnautica: Below Zero – All Aggressive Creatures
Avoid all of them!
The Symbiotes can be found in the Sparse Arctic.
These small aggressive creatures live in a symbiotic relationship with the Titan Holefish. Symbiotes lay their eggs within a blue gel-like substance in the tail hollow of the Titan Holefish. Here the eggs can extract the nutrients and oxygen to grow. In return, the adult Symbiotes form shoals around the Titan Holefish, attacking any potential predators that come close and removing parasites from the Titan’s body.
You can catch and eat them.
They deal with seven damage with one bite!
The Brinewing can be found in the Sparse Arctic.
If Brinewing hit you with ıce shot player will freeze for several seconds. This does no damage, and the Brinewing has no harmful attack. Still, it leaves the player helpless and slowly sinking for several seconds, vulnerable to oxygen depletion and attacks by any nearby Symbiotes.
The Brute Shark can be found in the Twisty Bridges, Tree Spires, and Lilypad Islands.
The Brute Sharks in the Lilypad Islands and Twisty Bridges are essentially at the top of their food webs. However, the ones located in the Tree Spires can be seen being attacked by the Chelicerate. It can be observed preying on small fish, Arctic Rays, and even the player. On top of its aggressive diet, the Brute Shark appears to move slowly but is rather handy when attacking prey.
They deal with 30 damage with one bite!
The Cryptosuchus can be found in the Purple Vents and Thermal Spires.
Cryptosuchus typically patrol a specific area or path, mostly content to swim in circles and roar if not disturbed. The player must pass fairly close to them to trigger a response.
They are also surprisingly cowardly creatures if the player does not back down: even a single hit from the Survival Knife will cause a Cryptosuchus to yield its attack and swim a significant distance away.
They deal with 30 damage with one bite!
The Squidshark can be found in the Deep Lilypads Cave, Deep Twisty Bridges, and the Lilypad Islands.
The Squidshark is a carnivorous creature and can be seen preying on smaller fauna. While pursuing a target, the flaps on its face open and reveal a large, protruding jaw. If the Squidshark manages to catch the player, it will grab them and deal 40 damage, but the player will escape by forcing their way out of its mouth. However, if this attack is performed and the player has 40 or less health, they will fail to escape its hold and slip into its mouth, which results in an instant kill.
Suppose the player is inside a vehicle and is within proximity of a Squidshark. In that case, it will perform an electrical attack with its tentacles, whipping them towards whatever is in front of the creature. This attack will temporarily disable the vehicle’s power, leaving it open to further attacks.
They deal with 40 damage with one attack!
The Chelicerate can be found in the Eastern Arctic, Purple Vents, Tree Spires, and World Edge.
Chelicerates normally patrol areas, commonly attacking creatures like Cryptosuchuses and Brute Sharks but also attacking smaller fish. It will open its beak and charge on spotting potential prey, emitting a loud screech as it does so. If it successfully attacks Robin, it will deal 75 damage, but if her health is less than 77%, the bite will be an instant kill with a cinematic showing Robin getting caught in the creature’s jaws.
If you go to World Edge, you will encounter this creature.
They will also attack the Seatruck and Prawn Suit, grasping these vehicles in their jaws and pushing them around for a short time dealing damage.
The Snow Stalker can be found in the Glacial Basin, Arctic Spires, and East Arctic.
When the player is within distance, the Snow Stalker becomes aggressive, stalking the player by crouching and slowly approaching players while snarling. When close, it will speed up and leap at the player and proceed to attack them. It is not dissuaded by failed attack attempts and will continue to chase the player down immediately, not stopping until it has inflicted damage upon them. If it successfully attacks the player, it will deal 35 damage, but if the player’s health is less than 35%, the attack will instantly kill with a cinematic showing the player getting attacked and eaten in the creature’s jaws.
They deal 35 damage with one attack!
The Rock Puncher can be found in the Thermal Spires, Koppa Mining Site, and Crystal Caves.
Rock Punchers are slow-moving, aggressive crustacean-like creatures. They move along the seafloor until approached by the player. At such a time, they will begin following the player and will even occasionally jump at the player if they swim too close. They can be distracted by Rockgrubs, which are their main prey.
Rock Punchers can be observed tapping the seafloor with their forelimbs, testing the ground for any potential Rockgrubs. Should the Rock Puncher find any, it will repeatedly punch the ground to unearth a rock covered in Rockgrubs and will proceed to pick it up and feed off of the rock. After feeding, the Rock Puncher will toss the rock aside, allowing the player to break the rock and gain resources such as Titanium, Copper, Silver, and Gold.
They deal with ten damage with one punch!
The Spikey Trap can be found in the Deep Twisty Bridges, Lilypads Crevice, and Deep Lilypads Cave.
If the player swims within the Spikey Trap range, they will be grabbed by one of its tentacles. While being held by a tentacle, the player will be slowly drawn towards the creature and take constant damage. If the player is successfully pulled into the creature’s mouth, it will consume the player, dealing 60 damage.
The Ice Worm can be found in the Arctic Spires.
The Ice Worm is an aggressive leviathan class fauna species that burrows beneath the surface of the ice. They appear to be ambush predators, drawn towards vibrations above them. Ice Worms are exclusively subterranean creatures and do not swim.
The Ice Worm travels about just below the ice’s surface, producing a distinct trail of pushed-up snow accompanied by a jet of steam. It is attracted to noise and vibration and will surface to attack whatever produces these things.
Once it is above ground, it will do a roar before making an attack. If the player is a reasonable distance from the Ice Worm, the Ice Worm will lunge at the target. After it has lunged at the player, it will either emerge back out of the ground to make another attack or poke at the player from underground with its horn. If it is closer to the target, it will make one of many close-range attacks.
While tunneling, it can dash at the player, and if it catches them, it will spear them and then fling them into the air before swallowing them whole.
When an Ice Worm enters hunt mode, they rapidly attack the player, using dive attacks, pokes, spear attacks, and whip attacks.
The Shadow Leviathan is a Leviathan-class predator species that can be found in the Crystal Caves and the Fabricator Caverns.
An aggressive and formidable leviathan class creature, Take care as you continue to explore this deep, mysterious location to avoid a deadly encounter.
They will also attack the Seatruck and Prawn Suit!
You’d want to steer clear from them if you come across one unless you have the tools and skills to take them down.
They deal 75 damage with one attack!
