Xuan-Yuan Sword VII – Tweaks and Comparison

————————————————————————————————

Sorry about the image quality, didn’t notice after I cropped and uploaded

I was having 50 around 60fps before I dig into this. Graphics are not that bad after messing with all these configs

It’s like advanced graphic settings that the dev didn’t add to the game but just low and high presets ……

Please leave a comment or a like if this does help you πŸ™‚

Let’s get started…

Make sure turn on “Show Hidden File” on Windows first.

once you have done that, navigate to

” C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Local\SOFTSTAR\SWD7\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor ” and look for ” GameUserSettings.ini “

find your way to [ScalabilityGroups], and you’ll see something like this

sg.ResolutionQuality=100.000000

sg.ViewDistanceQuality=3

sg.AntiAliasingQuality=3

sg.ShadowQuality=3

sg.PostProcessQuality=3

sg.TextureQuality=3

sg.EffectsQuality=3

sg.FoliageQuality=3

sg.ShadingQuality=3

0 = OFF/VERY LOW

1 = LOW

2 = MED

3 = HIGH

comparison of each set are down below

Note that I compare OFF/VERY LOW with HIGH only

Next thing you’ll have to change in Game.ini (The same folder as GameUserSettings.ini is located)

set bDLSS to False. If you DON’T have an RTX card, it might boost around 10+ fps depends on the system.

All settings from GameUserSettings.ini are 3 (High) when tested. I just turn the specific one to 0 (Off/Very Low) to make the comparison

In-Game Settings were High when tested

Changing these settings may encounter a millisecond of image loss in some areas, such as fog disappear, rocks glitching, etc…

FPS may vary on system and windows/Nvidia settings

My settings :

Tested on i7-9700K

Aorus 1660Ti 6G

running at 2560×1440 60hz with vsync off

[ScalabilityGroups]

sg.ResolutionQuality=80.000000

sg.ViewDistanceQuality=3

sg.AntiAliasingQuality=3

sg.ShadowQuality=2

sg.PostProcessQuality=1

sg.TextureQuality=3

sg.EffectsQuality=1

sg.FoliageQuality=0

sg.ShadingQuality=2

with bDLSS set to True (settings in Game.ini)

avg 85-150fps (in town, cabin, woods, or dungeons)

with bDLSS set to False

avg jump to 100 till whatever it gives me

fps may drop to 65 to 80 during combat and scene that has a lot of light source or grass

Stuttering fix that works for me (not tested in combat)

Turn vsync on inΒ Nvidia Control PanelΒ while having V sync and bUseVSync set to False in Game.ini and GameUserSettings.ini

might not be a good idea with vsync on, but…I do notice a big difference compared to vsync off.

The only issue is that you still can notice a bit of strutting when fps drop from 60 to 59.

Preset Low 65fps

ResolutionQuality

set to 90 for the visual and fps

80 = a little blurry compared to 90

From Top to Bottom

50 / 90fdps

80 / 63fps

100 / 55fps

I took them slightly off. looks like more light on the roof but no difference

not sure in combat, might as well set it to 1 or 2 for the fancy skill effect

ShadingQuality

it’s quite hard to judge this one as the pixel were low, but in the actual game, the highest shader looks a bit more clear
